First, should you go for paid traffic or for free organic traffic? in my opinion the best way to get website traffic is, via SEO.
Some things you should take into consideration, before choosing between paid and organic traffic, is the amount of money you are willing to spend, or if you just are willing to wait to get free traffic.
Getting organic traffic, is free, but is one of the most difficult ways to get traffic to your websites, and it takes time.
Although, in this article I’m not going to go in-depth into the paid traffic methods, I will explain some methods I tested, and based on some research I did, that should get you free organic traffic.
However, getting visitors to your page is very difficult. Here are some statistics, I have gathered from a website called “Crazy egg”, by the way it is a very helpful website if you want to leverage your website traffic.
The statistics, shown on this website mentioned that a brand new website, if the content was actually good, should get 100,000 visitors, within 18 months.
That is what your brand new website should look like, but don’t get discouraged, after 6 months good quality content, and obviously posting every single day or two to three times a week a new article, you should start seeing some movement on your website.
Get Little SEO Done, For Your Brand New Site.
First, SEO can be divided into two groups. On one hand, you have on-page SEO, and on the other hand you have off-page SEO.
On-page SEO, is the algorithm Google uses to know if your content is structured, good and it is not stuffed with keywords. To take the most or on page SEO, include H1, H2, H3 titles in your articles, and make sure you do not stuff your keywords all throughout your article.
You should only put your main keyword in your main title, and 1 to 2 times in your first paragraph, when you introduce your article topic. Throughout your article, you should provide good quality content, and not stuff you main keyword everywhere.
Also, when you include images, you should put the keyword where it says ”alt text”, when you edit it. You should include, at least two to three images, personally I tested more than 3 images and it is been overkill for the article.
Now, as regards off page SEO, this means the search engine optimization you have done outside your website. This means, how much traffic you have sent to your actual content, and how many people have engaged with it.
Off-page SEO is a very complex topic, there are various methods you can use to bring traffic to your site like guest posting which I will mention later on this article.
At first, you should concentrate on sharing your content, on all of your social media accounts. This brings us to our next topic…
Social Media Traffic.
So social media traffic oh, he’s the traffic you bring from your social media accounts, like Facebook, Instagram, Pinterest.
The best ones I have used, are Pinterest and Instagram. Personally I have not seen many results with Facebook. My humble opinion is, that Pinterest is the best way to drive traffic if you started a niche site / blog site. Why?
Pinterest, is one of the best ways, because the way it works is that you share pictures that link to your article, and that works because we are very visual beings, so when you see a very well-designed image on Pinterest you are very likely to click it.
To take the most out of Pinterest, you should join group boards. These are groups where every member shares the pictures of other members.
Here is a picture a group board that I joined, related to the weight loss niche. As you can see he has more than 100 members, that is the way to know if it is a group board, by seeing how many members the board has.
I am not going too in depth with Pinterest, because I could be doing an article solely about this topic, which I will do in the future.
As regards to Instagram, there is not too much to it. You should focus on creating good quality content, By seeing what your competitors in your Niche are posting.
On Instagram this is very easy to do, because you can go to the explore page and based on your interest it will show what other theme pages related to your Niche are posting.
Guest Blogging, Is It Worth It?
This is when, you go to a website and you contact the owner of that site, and you ask them if you can post an article, obviously related to your niche.
Why Can This be beneficial? Because, you can guest post on a site that is getting a lot of good quality traffic, and that traffic could be going to your site by linking your URL on the guest post article.
This is very good, because you are getting targeted traffic, meaning that these are people interested in the same niche of your site.
However, I am not that experienced with guest posting, I have talked with some partners who had profited a lot with it.
Basically, what they had told me, is that you should search a term on Google, related to a topic you have already covered on your site. What you should look for is for sites, that are not Enterprises like, for example, “healthline.com”.
You should search for Niche sites similar to yours, but the difference is that they get more traffic than you do. That is the best part, that it is targeted traffic, and at the same time you are getting quality backlinks.
The Old Fashion Way, Word Of Mouth.
This seems pretty dull, but if you start thinking about, it could get the ball rolling. Tell your friends, family, Neighbors about your site.
In my opinion you should never underestimate the power of word of mouth. What I used to do, is to go on Facebook and start messaging my friends about my site.
Do not get me wrong, this is what I was just getting started, but it helped me a lot so for me to know if my content was actually good.
Well, Just Combine All This Given Tips.
To sum up, you two should always focus on creating good quality content. Just use this tips for 3 to 5 months, and I assure you that you will start seeing results, just take action.
